Launching a digital service with US college students has been a successful strategy in the past: just ask Facebook. Startup Connyct hopes it will pay off in 2024.

It's a short-form video app focused on community and "real-life experiences." It's currently only available to college students in the U.S., but it's launching with a major music rights holder on board: Warner Music Group.

The major label will make a licensed library of its music videos available for use in its videos on the app. The idea is that Connyct is a useful alternative to TikTok.

“Connyct is a purpose-built technology platform that protects user rights, security, privacy, transparency, and promotes authentic engagement,” promised founder David Polinsky.
